Emmer is one of my go-to bakery cafés.
This will be a running thread of their food and drink. I ran another Emmer thread on HungryOnion previously.
Emmer has short hours. 9 am to 4 pm, Wed to Sun. There is often a line/ cue out the door. The line is shorter on rainy days. Today, it was a rainy Sunday and the beginning of March Break, so I lucked out with no wait at 11:46 am.
The breakfast menu runs until 11:30 am, and the lunch menu begins at 11:45 am.
Their Smashburger: $20. This burger was pretty good. I prefer their Patty Melt.
A hand pie I did not try
In addition to my Smashburger, I took 2 slices of mushroom quiche, an almond croissant, and a cortado to go.
My $19 CAD Croque Toast at Emmer Bakery. Excellent. 9.8/10

I tried to get a photo of the full menu. Twice.
This stranger wouldn’t move, so I cropped her out. She posed for the camera, twice. Glamourous.

Love that they make their own ham! That’s pretty special.

It’s a bit of a thing at a few restos and bakeries in Toronto. I have started ordering more ham as a result

Here you see places doing turkey or porchetta in house but house smoked ham is not one I’ve seen in the LA area!
