A Wendy’s Dave’s Single Cheeseburger is running $7.79 CAD before our 13% sales tax in Ontario. I ordered one yesterday. Still good.
I had a junior cheeseburger last weekend. I would rather pony up for the single cheeseburger.
I like the single cheeseburger at Wendy’s as much as the Quarter Pounder with cheese at Canadian McD’s. I think the convenience of the location is the bigger determinant for me right now.

The chili is one of the best sides in fast food along side Popeyes red beans and rice. Love the chili sauce they have for it

Wendy’s these days is also a much better dine in experience - Coke freestyle machines, bright, actual cashiers in the store…

Don’t know if it’s controversial or a hot take but Wendy’s was goated for me as a kid. Best dollar menu. That chilli with a baked potato, the burgers, dipping fries into the frostys. JIB has those tacos and McD’s has those fries but Wendy’s has (or had) so many bangers.

I had Chipotle for lunch yesterday, for the first time in many years, because my friend was buying. I got a “build your own” kid’s meal ($5.99), which was a taco with a choice of protein (I chose some sort of plant-based whatever), two extras (I chose pinto beans and tomatillo salsa) and chips or fruit (I received the world’s tiniest clementine, barely bigger than a grape). The beans and salsa were fine; the tortilla was cold and hard and seemed to have been made well before I ordered it. The plant-based whatever didn’t taste like much of anything.
I expected all this. My friend had ordered extra chips and guac, so I ate those as well. And the chips were so strange! Some of them were perfect - crisp, right amount of salt. Others were stale, or too salty, or not salty enough. Still others had that weird fake lime flavor. What the hell is up with the chips?
Guac was good, though.
