General Brentwood thread

Matú for lunch today, easy to get a bar stool. Only menu item is the cheesesteak (and chips or salad), and it’s absolutely delicious.

I really wish they did fries at lunch. That’s really like 65% of the reason I go to Matu.

Pop Up Bagels opening in Brentwood - they’ve been expanding rapidly but this is their first California location

I’d recognize those distinctive cyan and dark blue wall colors from a mile away…

So to keep things straight:

  • Pop’s is open on San Vicente
  • Yeastie Boys is (semi-permanently) on San Vicente
  • Clark Street on Barrington serves bagels
  • Hank’s opens Nov 5 on Barrington
  • Pop Up opening soon on San Vicente
  • Rumors of Layla’s opening on Barrington

I don’t think sleepy Brentwood can support this many bagel spots…

With a solid spot like Pop Up finally opening right on San Vicente, I imagine Hank’s up at the corner of Barrington & Sunset will suffer.

Now I don’t have to be annoyed I couldn’t hit it up when I was in NYC a few mos ago.

I just wish Western Bagels would reopen a location on the Westside…

Popup plans to open across LA/OC with 25 locations and 10 in SD. Yes it got franchised. Not sure how the quality will be spread across so many locations.

And now I again feel a bit sad that I didn’t make it out to one in NYC….

Two restaurants, right across the street from each other on Barrington - signage is up, so the question becomes, which will open first? The race is on!

and Terroni coming soon around the corner

Which storefront - the former Kreation space?

it’s just south of Kreation

You’ve mentioned Terroni a couple of times. Is their other location super tasty?

Santos works fast. My money’s on For The Win, for the win….

I’ll take The Wilkesto open first.

They have done that project so incredibly fast it’s kind of mind blowing.

Yes. I love Terroni in West Hollywood. Good food / reasonable price point.

We liked Terroni when it was in DTLA. It was surprisingly good for a chain that received no attention on this board. Their smoked salmon pizza was better than Spago’s for me. I viewed Terroni as legit Italian with authentic character.

That said, we got delivery from La Bettola di Terroni in Larchmont one time, and it was subpar.

Never even knew they HAVE Larchmont location!

DTLA was & Beverly Blvd is always solid.
