I will start off my London, Ontario thread with a take-out order from Pizza Quest.
This was their Mediterranean, with tomatoes, ripe olives, onion, mozzarella, feta (lots of feta) and dried oregano. Just under $25 CAD for the large.
I had to move some shelves on the door of my counter-depth fridge to fit the Large Pizza inside the fridge. The box is balancing on 2 containers of yogurt.
Mental note: medium boxes will fit without having to move the shelves around.
Take-out from Jay’s Garden, one of the few places still serving Chinese Canadian food in London, ON. It’s a small take-out restaurant in a suburban strip plaza with short hours.
Pizza from Lord Gainsborough in London, Ontario. This family restaurant recently changed ownership. The previous owner was an old Greek man who ran the resto for decades, and the pizza was a big draw. He taught the new owners all his recipes. The reviews online are positive.
The slices from the 3 different pizzas look the same in the photo because this place tops the toppings on the pizza with cheese. This is similar to Saskatchewan-style pizza. The crust isn’t quite like Saskatchewan-style.
I ordered vegetarian (tomato, mushroom, onion), Canadian (pepperoni, bacon, mushroom), and bacon + pineapple pizzas.
The tomato sauce was underseasoned for us. It was okay but we probably won’t order the pizza again.
We like the pizza at Porcino’s, Madre, Cito, Byron Pizza, Pizza Quest and Pazoon more than Lord Gainsborough’s pizzas today. I also want to try Piero’s and Ellie’s.
