So many choices for lunch on the way from Berkeley to Monterey. Not as busy as I expected for noon on a Sunday.
Banh khot from Quán Ngon ($9). Greens included fish mint and perilla but not cilantro or culantro.
Grilled pork spring rolls from Huong Duong ($8.75), they had some great housemade chile paste that made me very happy though my companions found it way too spicy…
My companions got bánh xèo from the place that specializes in that, it was good but I prefer more coconut flavor in the batter. Their greens included some mustard, which I prefer to lettuce. Again no cilantro or culantro.
