Simplified version of Green Pozole with ground pork, hominy, tomatillos, jalapeno, poblano, onion, garlic, cumin and sirararkhong chili - topped with tomatoes and queso fresco
Me too. I hadn’t been in a while but found myself at Joan’s on 3rd a couple times this month - looks like I have another reason to go again!
Great! I made it with the white fish and it was amazing!!! I lightly dusted the the fish in seasoned flour and then pan fried it. Heated up the sauce and poured it in the fish pieces and served it with roasted cauliflower. it was amazing with Trader Joe’s Frozen garlic naan,
Also P saw my post and said that the jar was $18 not $16. Still worth it.
Yummm!
Lamb ragu with pappardelle - ground lamb with leeks, micro arugula, parsley, mint, rosemary, chives, garlic, anchovies, tomato paste, lemon zest and juice, white wine and chicken broth. Topped with some pecorino.
Served with a green bean salad with a vinaigrette made from shallots, chives, capers, mustard, olive oil and white wine vinegar.
Wonderful! These are my favorite meals… simple but composed….
Thai inspired soup with cod, leek, carrots, coconut milk, lemongrass, garlic, ginger, fish sauce and lime juice. Topped with some peanuts, jalapeño and cilantro
Fennel Risotto (fennel, onion, fennel seeds, chicken broth, parsley, parmesan and chicken broth) with Pork Ragu (ground pork, fennel, onion, carrot, fennel seeds, diced tomatoes, dried tomatoes, parsley, white wine)
Partner has made a Basque cheesecake b/f, but this is my first attempt. The recipe he uses seems to use more cream cheese than some others (48 oz vs. 36 oz), and the batter barely fit into our stand mixer!
So, SO jiggly when I pulled it out of the oven (which, from what I gather, is how it’s supposed to be).
Looks and smells good. Wish I had started earlier so it would’ve had a bit more time to cool b/f I stick it in the fridge. I’m bringing it to a party on Sat evening, so hopefully it tastes good…
Yummm
No pics (at least none that I took; I think a friend took some/one).
A success!!! The outer part was pretty decently set, but the inside was still fairly loose w/o being liquid-y or oozy.
This recipe calls for more cream cheese than others (48 oz), less sugar (1 cup), fewer eggs (3 whole), and some cake flour (1/3 cup). This one also has baking powder (can’t recall if most others have that).
Sifted the cake flour and creamed that + sugar + cheese. Per other recipes, I thoroughly incorporated each egg individually and then added the heavy cream, vanilla, salt, and baking powder.
And then you just bake at 400 deg for 50 mins. Super easy. ![]()
Partner has tried variations that have more egg, and we didn’t like the texture of those (too set, and a bit less cheesy).
Santiago Rivera’s original calls for 1 kg of cheese (35 oz.), though that of course depends on the quantities of sugar, egg, and cream. It is not very set as he makes it.
pressure cooker beef pho. finally got around to using the chili oil gift from @PorkyBelly ! tbh very fragrant, nice heat.
Pork vindaloo (cubed pork loin chops, coconut vinegar, garlic, coriander, cumin, sirarakhong chili, turmeric, red onion, cashews, coconut milk, cilantro) and stir-fried green cabbage with fennel seeds (green cabbage, cumin & fennel & sesame seeds, onion, cayenne, garam masala, lemon juice) - served over rice
Post Easter waffle house style covered, smoothered, chunked & peppered. Featuring leftover potatoes, Taylor pork roll& mimolette cheese sauce.
Are the red things pieces of bell pepper?
Some sweet peppers i got at Ralph’s. They look kinda like Fresnos but not spicy
You just keep pork roll around? That’s cool
I did like a brunch at home for Easter and fried up some pork roll instead of bacon or sausage so i had a bit left over! They carry it at Bristol Farms which is cool
Oh, man that is so good to know! Thank you!
