We’re going to be in the area for a couple of days and are wondering if there are any GOOD options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Bakeries, coffee, diners, cafes, restaurants and of course ice cream shops that you would go out of your way for! Or should I just bring groceries and use the kitchen? Thanks!
Bump on an old topic - I just came back and have some observations.
The town really closes down on Tuesday and Wednesday, with almost all restaurants closed.
The Idyllwild Village Market had an impressive amount of different goods - including many options for vegetarian/vegan eating. Yes, all of it was more money than if I purchased outside of a mountain town, but it was terrific having the option.
Really enjoyed and would go back: Sunflower Cafe
Liked and would go back: Idyllwild Pizza and Idyllwild Brewpub
Ate and would try something else next time: Red Kettle, Mama’s Egg House, La Casita
