Which SoCal supermarkets carry Megachef Oyster Sauce? I went to Thuan Phat Supermarket on Beach Blvd in Westminster over the weekend and they had every Megachef sauce except for their oyster sauce.
I’m in the South Bay but don’t mind a drive. Already checked the 99 Ranch in Gardena with no luck. Thanks!
Do be aware that third party sellers on Amazon can have quality or fraud issues. Not always a problem by any means, but we’ve had an issue or two surrounding third party sellers on Amazon for food products.
I highly recommend this source, Megachef Oyster Sauce (Gluten Free) - The Mala Market
Its a wonderful site run by a woman in Tennessee who adopted a Chinese orphan years ago. Not wanting her daughter to lose her cultural heritage she became obsessed with Sichaun cuisine. I have ordered from her many times, and the quality is far better than anything I have found here. There are wonderful recipes on her site as well.
Food and Wine wrote her up in their last issue.
There was a June 2nd email saying the new vinegar had arrived, and the complete Sichuan pantry collection was now available. As I had been looking to send that to my daughter I deduced the oyster sauce was there as well. A bit abstract I guess.
Follow Up: Saw that Saigon Market in Lawndale now carries Megachef Oyster Sauce. They sell a 21.2oz (600g) bottle for $3.99. Monsieur Marcel at the 3rd St Farmers Market, for comparison, sells an 8.1oz bottle for $11.99.
I still haven’t seen this brand at the Gardena 99 Ranch.
