Hmm odd. @MaxShapiro can you confirm?

I can confirm there’s a brief pause right now. There have been some internal matters at the ownership level that are actively being addressed. Horses is expected to continue into the Year of the Horse, though as with any transition, the biggest variable is always the people. What makes Horses special is its staff, and the hope is that whoever is stewarding the next chapter can clearly demonstrate stability, care, and long term commitment to the team that built the place

Cove from Flyn McGarry in NYC to close out the year. One of the best winter produce tastings I’ve ever had. Bright, refreshing, clean. Very original dishes that really delivered on flavor. Unfortunately service was reallyLacking which sucks for a 200pp meal but it was a brutal snowy day in NY so maybe people called out. I have high hopes for this place and look fwd to trying another season or à la carte.

Bonus paella from Lita in NJ from Xmas eve. Central Jersey ish in Aberdeen near old bridge and asbury*. Same chef as heirloom kitchen doing a great 3 course pre fixe.

As someone still relatively new to the site, is this an LA eats thread or a general one?

(I eat out mostly in NYC, for which I see a couple of threads, and Home Cooking looks like it also has a couple of active threads.)

Thanks!

I think it depends on who you ask.

If your posts are mainly from NYC eateries, I would suggest maybe just adding that info to the specific post (in addition to the restaurant name) so that your posts will show when someone’s doing a search (in preparation for a trip to NYC, for instance).

I know a lot of posters are already familiar w/ the names of NYC eateries, but I personally am not and would really benefit from that info!

Super Peach NYE set menu. Portions were huge for the price on new year’s eve ($134/per person) and everything was delicious.

Friends at my table were curious if the food was going to be good with the place having a google rating of 3.8 stars

Savory donut - has a curry filling

Fried chicken kimbap

Filet mignon

Fingerling sweet potato

Chocolate cake

People post whatever they want in this topic, so it doesn’t make a lot of sense that it’s in the LA category.
