LumLum Thai in Hells Kitchen. Tons of Thai and Chinese options near the theatre district. Small place was packed before, during and after the meal. I tried getting reservations at like 7 other Thai places and they were all completely full. Somtum Der. Fish Cheeks. Uncle Boons. Thai Diner. Soothr. Thai Villa. Pranakhon.

Very tasty wish it was a little spicier papaya salad. My son who never eats veggies almost made us order another one.

Tom yum goong. Respect them adding the shrimp heads. Well balanced between spicy sour and a touch of coconut milk.

Crispy pork belly with tamarind sauce. Reminded us of Ruen Pair.

Pad see ew. Savory. Great wok hei.

Morning glory was fantastic. One of the best preps of Asian veggies we had in while.

Parm was very mid except for the spicy rigatoni vodka which is always great. I guess this will have to do since I can’t get into Carbone.

Apollo Bagels is fantastic. We had Utopia the day before and my kids said it was the best bagel until Apollo today. Perfectly placed uniform cucumbers and lox topped on the bagels. It’s basically the same Courage. So good.

Apollo is good!!! Lovely pics. I stopped by last week on my sister’s rec, kind of skeptical about sourdough bagels. But I’m sold now. Glad to know this means I may not need to wait in line for Courage if I know what it’ll be like.

Gjelina in NYC is great. Not 1 miss and the veggies as usual were on point. We sat upstairs. Plenty of room and a nice bar area. If you blindfolded me we would have thought we were in Venice. Everything was great not 1 miss.

Pickle plate. The kimchi was better than some Korean restaurants we go to.

Snap peas. If I made veggies like this my son would actually eat more veggies.

Creamed broccoli rabe with parm and breadcrumbs. Come on. The spicy peppers were a good foil. Not super creamy. I need the recipe for Thanksgiving.

Frites. Was expecting French fries but these were lovely. Legit twice baked creamy frites.

Crispy juicy half chicken in harissa preserved orange sauce. Yum. Collared kale type greens too.

Guanciale, olive and Fresno chili pizza. Same great crust and leoparding. Best restaurant pizza ever.

This mushroom pizza looked weird bc it’s the same kind of mushrooms we eat for shabu.

Prince St pizza 3 blocks away. My son said he was stilll hungry. I had a bite and it was excellent. Great sauce and the pepperoni cups are elite. Much much much better than the Prince St in Costa Mesa.

L’Industrie first in line at 11:15 on a Monday. Had to catch the Amtrak to Philly so didn’t have the luxury
of waiting. ~50-60 people behind us at noon opening. Such a thin crunchy crust. Great balanced slice. Still the best slice for me in Manhattan. Haven’t been to Ceres still.

Big and smart move! No need to drive on I-95.

Is it just steaks? Wonder if they will also do hoagies, pizza, cutlets, etc. also if they are going to bake the seeded roll in house

just steaks and they bake their bread per the angelo’s specification. bradley cooper is also sometimes working the flattop

I love that pork belly dish at LumLum. Reminds me a bit of the jerky at Pam.

Lumlum is awesome, and every time we go back I am reminded we should do so more often.
Funny though we order entirely different things from you (squid ink soup and crying tiger steak are our must orders every time. both spicy though)

What else do you like on the menu?

This is the best ice cream I’ve ever had. Chocolate was perfect balance and the texture my goodness. I don’t generally go for strawberry ice creams but the cream with strawberry and graham crackers was perfect for a hot and humid day. Only about 10 min wait but they were sold out of half the flavors for the day.

Caffe Panne is a must from now on for my NYC trips. I’m planning the rest of the my dinners this week around how close the restaurants are to Caffe Panne.
