Pasta Supply Co. (San Francisco)
I ate at Prairie in early 2019 and loved it. Was waiting for Pasta Supply Co. to open up dinner service and timed a trip North right. Showed up 15 minutes before open on a Sunday, we were third to put our names down. Five minutes before open that turned into a crowd of 20 or so people and more showing up all the time.
Pan’terra with sour cream and onion burrata
House greens salad with lemon, anchovy and parmigiana + pan’terra breadcrumbs and hot guanciale
Blaufrankisch, Claus Preisinger, Austria 2020
Lil’ juicy meatballs - beef and pork, with tomato and pan’terra
Maltagliata in basil pesto - some had been scooped before picture
Mafaldine add a scoop of beef cheek sago
Seka Hills olive oil panna cotta with ruby grapefruit and pink peppercorns
Wood Tavern (Oakland)
Hadn’t been since before covid but been a bunch over the years. Fun place, can be kinda straightforward menu at times but always delicious
House smoked duck breast and can’t remember the cheese
Seared ahi tuna salad
Casarecce with morels and peas
Strawberry and key lime pie
Chez Panisse - Cafe Upstairs (Berkeley)
Here’s where I go blank. Besides visual specifics I have a hard time remembering anything about what I’ve eaten unless I have the menu. I mainly remember how much I enjoyed the experience.
Great way to spend a Wednesday and a last lunch out before heading back down the next morning.
Anchovies
Sweet corn soup
Cannard Family Farms garden lettuces with Banyuls vinaigrette
Shrimp. tangy aioli, loved it.
