July 2025 Rundown

Kissa Corazón (in Chinatown, near Majordomo) does a good job of filling what I consider an apparent vacuum in LA: A vibey, traditional Japanese coffee house. Those of you who have visited Japan may have enjoyed a kissaten: A relaxed kohee (coffee) house feel, cool music (think jazz or lo-fi) serving as soundtrack, with a likewise curated menu of good bites as well.

Kissatens make wonderful places for a solo, contemplative break, while also offering a lovely space in which to meet a friend.

My cantaloupe milk was delightful…

Shokupan toast and tangerine cake tasted great, too…

Dang thanks for the report! I just found out this opened within the last 24 hours and excited to check this one out. I believe this is by the same team that ran Loop Espresso Club in Eagle Rock before their closure.

Most underrated pizzeria in whole California just because of the location. I always talked to Chris that he needs to open at Los Angeles.

New ciccio pizza is amazing, no flop, airy, crispy and light. I like their appetizers and soft serve float as well.

One of the best pizzeria in America because of choices of dough style, atmosphere and service.
Run by great and kind people.

Truly pizza at Dana point

Red pie is the best item from pizza.

Enjoyed very much highly recommend creamsicle

On take on tonda romana but it’s more cooked longer also so it’s like New Yorkish and pizza al forno in Rome Roscioli kinda like (Roscioli is more foldable since they uses weaker flours)

Absolutely get the red pie. Cere’s in NYC does one that looks spectacular. Lot of the New Haven places as well with an optional anchovies. The simplicity is a litmus test I am sure Truly has a really great one
