I’m sad I didn’t get there on my most recent trip.
Got lunch takeout for one last time. Sigh.
FYI Even though it’s sold out on Ask Mama, you can order the galbi jjim through the phone, though if you call later in the day, they may run out (same goes for any dish they have).

Took me at least 4-5 attempts before Jeff picked up, it’s not easy I know. I could tell he was super busy when I picked up my order.

Terrible news. My sister is friends with the owners. One of the first and oldest restaurants in KTown. Had many celebrations there.

Oh man… I’ve been going to Dong Il Jang since I was a little kid. That’s really sad, but business has clearly been down, even before COVID. Where did you hear the news?
I think they’re doing takeout, so I need to hit them up before they close.
Edit: Just peeped their takeout menu, not surprising but no roast gui on the menu so can’t get that hit of nostalgia I desire. Sigh.

They’re opening Jun Won Dak and it’ll be what I believe a small, take-out only type of a shop. But it’s just all new and we’ll find details out soon.
