If you’ve got the Benjamins, anything can be done. 
The prob is that it seems like some type of bang bang is necessary after Kato, based on what I’m reading. 
I love this. It’s now walkable and hopefully bodes well for the row overall.
Hayato has proven that the row can work for destination restaurants (Tartine just didn’t get it right), so if this signals a move to more high end spots for the other open spaces I could see it making sense.

From the Eater LA article: The move does leave a gaping hole in West LA, though Yao says the strip mall location will eventually turn into something else that will serve their Westside fans.

It has a full bar.
Not everyone has the same level of capacity as some of the folks here. When I went to kato this summer I found it was not only delicious but perfectly filling. The bites didn’t look that large but somehow I was full by the end so YMMV.
