Oof, on the location, but I’ll try it (assuming prices aren’t insane)…

I was wondering why the Oof. lol that’s not DTSM! I wonder what crowd they want

The “oof” is b/c I also

Whenever I go near that area, it’s only for Ye Olde King’s Head (although I think Uovo and HiHo are also good, although it’s been yrs since I’ve been to Uovo).

My impression, which I acknowledge might be totally inaccurate, is that the area is generally a tourist trap. I don’t know if tourists are looking for a Michelin 1-star bib gourmand Indian restaurant.

And will the tourist-trap aspect of the general area be a turn off to locals (who I think would be supportive of a Michelin 1-star or Michelin bib gourmand place [a la Colapasta])?

And, on a totally selfish note, I just personally find it a PITA to navigate that general area.

You sure it’s 1 star? Never heard of this place before but a quick search appears to show that it’s a bib. Either way, there’s a dearth of good Indian so I’ll try it out, location be damned.

Not just SoCal, I believe it’s the only Michelin recommended Pakistani spot in the country.. definitely a spot I’ll be checking out in the near future, thx!

Looks like it’s taking over where Tumbi was, replacing an old bib with a new bib

it’s nowhere near one star level; no dish is even close to that. it’s just tasty north indian. more like the typical good north indian place you find in say NYC. i really like it (at least the fullerton location), but i love indian food and consider it a top 5 world cuisine and the #1 cuisine at the low-to-mid range. peony and i like it enough to take her sister and nephew there to try indian food.
