Finally a place to get my barbacoa de borrego fix on the weekend and really great tortas as well. The bread here is spectacularly tender and fluffy…sandwich build is very very good…everything is cooked and cut with the intention of the sandwich eating with a lot of give. This isn’t your crusty baguette or sourdough roll. Think the bread at Submarine Center but with paper thin milanesa de res and jamon. This one, the Haragana came with a delightful chipotle mayo, rajas and some over medium eggs.
Def going to be my go to between south bay and the city from now on.
I only got consomme (no tacos de barbacoa) because me and the wifey were already sharing a big torta and some flautas but the consomme was superb! very well seasoned, hint of spice, deep lamb flavor, replete with some rice and chickpeas.
Now where can I find a cemita poblana? I’m really quite fond of the chile morita spread and the quesillo
