LA jajangmyeon recommendations

I’m thinking about Ktown favorite jajangmyeon spots, but I’ll take anything around LA. It’s getting cold, comfort food is a must today

*Thanks to all the suggestions! I’ll keep adding them into this list for emergency jajangmyeon :two_hearts:

Full House Plus at Torrance. Opt for the Dry Black Sauce Noodle. Very good flavor with nicely al dente house made noodle.

Jin Jja Roo at Redondo Beach. Opt for the Special Black Bean Noodle. The extra bacon bits makes a big difference. Try both and report back.

Huge fan of Full House Plus. As you said, teh noodles are excellent. Owner takes tremendous pride in getting it just right. And his other dishes are great as well (seafood noodle soup, fried chicken wings, various fried meats in various sauces, etc.)

Zzamong on W 3rd st since you used the Korean spelling.

Corner Beef Noodle House in El Monte for Zhajiangmian.

I very much enjoy the version at young King in ktown but maybe it’s nostalgia. Their gan bong ji and tang soo yook are the best tho.

At Young Dong Id also recommend the beef noodles, and the sul lung tang soup.

Pao Jao, in Koreatown Plaza…

We typically go to Full House in Buena Park/Fullerton since that’s closest. Interesting to hear there’s a Full House Plus in Torrance… I wonder if they’re related?

@hungryhungryhippos look what happened tonight lol
The truth is I was craving Samgye-Tang at Jun Won Dak again, but they closed at 6pm during their soft opening. The next best thing to eat on a cold November 11th must be jajangmyeon :face_with_hand_over_mouth::sweat_smile:

I asked Jeff Jun for his favorite jajangmyeon spot in Ktown and he pointed me to Yong King a familiar neighborhood staple has been around for ages. Nothing fancy, just some slippery, savory noodle and Mongolian beef for a comforting night.

Happy jajangmyeon day :kissing_heart: This fixed my craving!
I’ll venture to the rest of the recommendations and try the other spots out :two_hearts:

Because it’s 11/11, I got double lol

Somehow everything tastes just right and so darn comfortable tonight. Hit the spot! Possibly because I was very hungry after the gym :joy:

Welcome to FTC @lewis :two_hearts: I’ll add that spot in the list. Not sure if they have the same owner. Anyone knows?

Yes that is the spot you have to try the jjampong, tang soo yook, and gan pong ji next time. And if you’re only trying one get the gan pong ji!

They have good spicy shrimp dumplings.

Young King is the spot most Koreans would recommend. Personally prefer Mandarin House (Jin Hung Gak).

@BlurA14 Mandarin House looks tasty! Young King is definitely a nostalgia destination

+1 on this. I only had it once like 10+ yrs ago, but that stuff is like crack.

Why did I think that Young King had closed down??? (not actually expecting anyone to answer)
