LA Restaurants Requiring Vaccination Proof

Does anybody know what the general process to provide proof of vaccination is for LA restaurants? I tried to download the QR code but they couldn’t find my vaccination. I have a photo of my vaccination card. Should I bring my actual vaccination card when we dine out in LA?

did you try this website?
I haven’t gone to a restaurant that requires it yet but i have the digital copy and a picture of my vaccination card.

I thought I tried that website the other day but they couldn’t locate my record. I tried again right now and took the picture of the QR code. Thanks.

The situation seems to be evolving rapidly but if we wanted to take our kids to an outdoor patio of a restaurant that requires vaccinations do you think they’ll let us eat? My kids are not of age and we’re not going to get tests 72 hours before eating.

not sure, but it seems to me the vax records are being enforced to adults only. I don’t think they can fault you if your kids arent of age for vaccinations

I like having the qr code in my iwallet, it’s handy.

I have that version too (from Healthvana) but the California gov website doesn’t offer the iwallet version.

I’ve been using a screenshot of the California website page with the QR code (since the Android download didn’t work on my phone), no problems so far.

I was curious about this too and was considering calling a restaurant to ask and found the policy for the Rustic Canyon group online. They have a bunch of restaurants that will start requiring vaccinations, and for their restaurants specifically, outdoor dining will still be permitted. Of course, it would be best to call the specific restaurant.

The relevant quote is below, and it seems like you’d be good for outdoor dining at these specific restaurants. Indoor dining would be another story.
- Children under 12 aren’t eligible for the vaccine, so you’ll need to get a negative test result for kids over 2 years old. If a negative test isn’t possible, then your family will have to dine outside.

FYI, the list of establishments on eater is here:

For what it’s worth, rapid self tests are widely available at drug stores now. Frankly, it should be easy enough to do a test minutes before eating, not days, and I think places should be making that the requirement given how much quicker Delta spreads.

The point of the LA rule is to encourage people to get vaccinated by making it inconvenient and annoying not to be.

If the goal were to keep infected people out of restaurants and gyms, they’d limit entry to the fully-vaccinated.
