I don’t understand how La Purapecha in Santa Monica made this list. I’ve never had something good from the few times I’ve tried it. Anyone have a good visit?

LA Taco is paywalled, and I’ll post the list here as soon as I see it posted in full for free other places.

IMHO it’s a worthwhile subscription and a spiritual successor to LA Weekly’s heyday

Good list. I have some quibbles obviously (Frontera is eternally overrated (not bad! just overrated), I was pretty disappointed by Villa’s fish despite my best efforts, Simon and La Flor de Yucatán are too low, could use a little line editing, etc.) but there’s good stylistic and geographic diversity and it’s clear a ton of real research and effort went into this and I think it’s generally very trustworthy. Love the Taco, and happy to support them.

New addition: Gracias Senor Taqueria (Rodolfo “Rudy” Barrientos) as the “Taquero of the Year.” It’s good food from a great person - DACA winner, 10 year small business owner.

The truck parks at 11941 San Vicente Blvd, which is by the Mendo Farms at San Vicente and Westgate, and is there most days (not Wednesday).

This is the truck which was longtime near the Ralphs in Pac Palisades before the Ralph’s served him a notice to move, and then went back into the area last year and fed first responders for free.

I’ve mentioned Gracias Señor in either the Brentwood or monthly rundown thread (can’t remember which). All of the food is really solid and Rudy is the nicest guy. I recently realized they do breakfast burritos which has become my new weekend ritual. Great spot all around, and undeniably the best value on San Vicente. Now that “The Lawn” development at the intersection of San Vicente and Montana has reopened post-renovation, my move is to grab the food and plop myself at one of the outdoor seating areas. The chairs & sofas are surprisingly comfortable. It’s always a sea of people eating Gracias Señor - I almost feel bad for The Lawn…but not really.

Oh that’s great! There is a video on LA Taco and Gracias Señor Instagrams and Rudy got a little gold taco trophy! I hope its visible in the truck when people order.
