Any predictions for new additions or what will be #1?
Obviously I think Baby Bistro will be top 15-20.. and I see Kato still at #1. What other new additions? Alto in Studio City? Firstborn?
I wonder given the controversies if Republique will fall into top 30’s and out of the top 10.

The chef’s wife made a comment suggesting that she agreed with the president or Elon Musk on some issue I forget.
Margarita? I have no idea what she said, but her pastries are better than Walter’s food.
I wonder where Firstborn would land. Reception on this board seems mixed, though leaning positive/enthusiastic (myself included); Kelly Yeo on her Substack Spill The Beans teased it was a “failure” above the paywall; a positive but shallow review on LAT; and it certainly seems to be in the shadow of other media darling restaurants like Baby Bistro now.

I normally agree with max - I didn’t on firstborn (I have had increasingly good meals there) and Baby Bistro (seemed to mostly talk about the hype in relation to his one meal - although I did not try the chicken sausage dish he seemed to hate) and the menu has changed OFTEN. And also 88 club!
(But I did agree on Darling, Alto, and Kojima)

ik you just started listening to air jordan, but he seems to be tight with mei lin. that may be a factor, whether in terms of judgement or quality of meal.
I love Mei Lin, but 88 club was bad. so that makes sense i guess.
I think max has a blind spot when it comes to non-Japanese Asian food not cooked by his pals at Anajak, Kato, or 88 Club. I follow him (and think he knows ball) but I’m not sure I’d trust his opinion on Thai food, or, in this case, Firstborn.
