Forn Al Hara. A Little Arabia heavy hitter. Lebanese flatbreads is what they do here. You can see what I am guessing is Mom in the back. Grab some garlic sauce as well. Not fast food, expect at least a 20 minute wait for the breads to come out
One of the best additions in the past few years has been Sababa. Already a classic and a must. My favorite falafel sandwich with the mix of veggies and sauces. Ammatoli might do a better a falafel but for the whole sandwich Sababa can’t be beat.
Sababa is amazing but is it really in Little Arabia? I feel like it’s past the border. I am nitpicking but it’s relevant to me because I live in Brea and if Sababa was closer it’s be much more frequently visited.
Either way you should go. The whole package is great. Pita, falafel and pickles. They always give you a falafel taster while waiting on line.
It’s still on Brookhurst just a little more south of the main drag. There is also a middle eastern supermarket in that plaza. It’s growing from decades ago. I mean Little Saigon has grown beyond Bolsa/Westminster. SGV beyond Valley and Garvey. Koreatown beyond Olympic.
I mean it’s technically in Garden Grove because it’s on the south side of Katella. However, Restaurants & Cafes — Little Arabia District says it’s part of Little Arabia so who am I to argue.
I need to get to Sababa it’s always a little further out of the way so I never make it over always end up going to Zait and zataar to get their kebabs Togo.
Have you been to Kareem’s? Is Kareem’s better than sababa?
Kareems falafel is not in the same class as Sababa. Went to Kareem’s once bc it always gets mentioned in articles and lists but I’ll always drive the extra 10-15 minutes to go to Sababa for falafel.
Been going to Kareem’s for years. Their falafel is good. It’s a classic and they sell them frozen in middle eastern markets. As far falafel sandwiches go, Sababa is the one. Kareem’s has a bigger menu though. I used to get the fatteh for breakfast.
Koshary. Rice, pasta, lentil, chickpea, tomato sauce, garlic vinegar. An absolute unit of a dish!
Did a 5 mile run a few hours before this so this hit the spot as well as being delicious.
Falafel Bowl. Falafel sandwich on Jerusalem bread. Fries.
I think I prefer the pita vs bread. Fries were great and fried to order. Be sure to get some extra garlic sauce to dip! Absolute mad house on a weekend night
Came late and they ran out of falafels. Really wanted to try the stuffed falafels (I think it’s carmelized onions). So far experience has shown me that Palestinian places are making some of the best falafel. Anyways
Ful. Loved their version here. Garlic, lemon, olive oil.
This place is a definitely a Little Arabia heavy hitter. Watching other plates come out they are very generous with portions. They have a special for each day of the week.
