The newest h. wood Group restaurant, called Little ʞɔn˥, debuted earlier this week just west of Beverly Hills, in the space which formerly housed Bootsy Bellows.
The build-out includes a welcoming bar scene, complete with DJ booth, upon initial entry.
The dining room beyond exudes dim, cozy vibes. The room was packed on only its second night of grand opening.
Mixology at Little ʞɔn˥ was solid. My (non-alcoholic) Mugi Negroni proved to be a great welcome cocktail; it was tasty and well-poured. If I can compliment a bar on great ice cubes, then Little ʞɔn˥ gets the award. Service was professional as well.
How was the food? Well, I’d say Japanese-influenced hotspot cuisine. The menu at Little ʞɔn˥ is exactly what one might expect on the Sunset Strip. My highlight included the egg salad with milk toast and hash browns (I did not opt for the $40 caviar supplement).
The quail karaage was tasty, even though the meat came out a bit dry (but hey, quails are tiny birds!). Their A5 wagyu donabe rice suffered from a common issue: Sogginess, from insufficient time on the fire.
Black sesame soft serve felt silky smooth - just right for the ambiance and concept at Little ʞɔn˥.
I wish them luck.
