Little Saigon Adventures

Wow that’s hilarious. Sorting pictures by date appears to be an app-only feature? Doesn’t seem possible on browser based on what I just checked on after seeing Porky’s and robert’s pics. I guess they only care about app experience haha.

I only use the app version and was expecting that it worked across systems

That’s not the only nonsensical app only feature. In the Yelp app you can filter by places open at a specific time/day that you input. I use it, for example, to see what restaurants are open at 5:00 PM if I’m feeling an early dinner, or what restaurants are open for lunch on the weekend. On the website, you can’t do that. Yelp is a carcass of a tech company that will continue to decompose over time.

it’s hidden under features → see all → open at

SOMETIMES on the web site I get a filter for open at a certain time. Other times I have to select “Open now” and then change the time. Yet other times there’s only “Open now” and it doesn’t offer an option to change the time. The inconsistency seems bizarre. Maybe they’re doing A/B testing? Who knows.

Bun Cha 1008 (Google Maps)

Bun cha Hanoi specialist in Stanton. The menu is very limited – just bun cha with various meat options plus a few crab meat dishes (egg roll, noodles, or soup). I love a good specialist restaurant. I would happily return here.

Mrs. Sk8uno and I each got a combo bun cha and we shared the crab egg roll appetizer. We thought the bun cha was great, I particularly enjoyed the pork patties in the bun cha. I also liked the crab egg roll quite a bit, though not sure I’d need it next time. It’s pretty substantial for 2 people if you are having it in additional to bun cha. I think I’d be inclined to try the crab meat soup next time (instead of egg roll, not instead of bun cha), assuming it’s not 200 degrees outside.

Mrs. Sk8uno thinks she slightly prefers the bun cha at Sen. I’m undecided as between Sen and Bun Cha 1008.

Same bang bang from a couple weeks back ba le this time dac biet with extra pate and goi ga instead of duck. Ba le remains the best of little Saigon for banh mis, if each ba le was as good as this one they would be a dominant player in the sandwich industry. As a goi I much prefer the chicken. Anyone had the duck soup vs chicken?
