Long Beach?

Anything in or around Long Beach worth eating? Heading down that way for work tomorrow from the valley. I mean doesn’t have to be dine in willing to do just take out. Is there anything worth the stop? Thanks for the help.

Lots of good stuff in Long Beach! Here’s my faves…

Bake and Broil. Can’t go wrong here, be sure to get a slice of pie or cake to go…

Phno Penh is one of my favorite noodle shops PERIOD. It’s like Vietnamese noodles with SOUL.

Steelcraft food hall has outdoor setting and an outpost of Desanos. It’s not as good as the original place… but still REALLY GOOD.

I have yet to go (It’s on the list for this weekend!) but Champion’s Curry in Japan just opened their first American Outpost in Long Beach!

Hi @Dommy,

Champions is average unfortunately. :frowning: A safe, saltier style of curry. Kagura’s is better.

X 3 Phnom Penh Noodle Shack!

Noodles…with soup, dry, or stir fried
Porridge’s are also very good.

Probably THE Cambodian restaurant in So Cal

Oh NOESSSS!!! I was so excited to try it… I thought it would bring something different to the So Cal Curry Game…something inbetween the overly sweet curries that most places do (I recently tried the Curry Pop Up that moved over from New York. MEH!) and that SUPER Dark curry that Red Rock is dishing out (INTENSE!). IT looks so rich and lucious in the picture… Ah well… Curry Cup from Tokyo Central is forever my Bae then…

Looks like Phno Penh will be getting a visit for sure!

We are partial to Berth 55.

Seafood market that fries and grills fish to order.

I like Ellie’s. Just good solid pastas and entrees. The patio is great.

Phnom Penh for sure. Donuts and noodle soup.

Also Playa Amor, the hatch Green Chile spaghetti is darn good.

donuts??

Chinese donuts (fried cruellers, youtiao,)

It’s really good! Better than some places in SGV

Sophy’s is an excellent Cambodian spot - highly recommend for beef lok lak and beef jerky.

Cheko El Rey Del Sarandeado is also tremendous. My favorite things are the tostaditos locos, which are basically tortilla chips topped with marlin pate and shrimp and octopus ceviche, and the langostinos and grilled snook are also great.

I haven’t spent much time in Long Beach, but I have made it to Phnom Penh Noodle Shack, and it was worth it. I’ll also second JeetKuneBao’s recommendations. The noodles, in any form (I liked dry), and congees/porridges stand out. And do get a youtiao (donut/bread stick) to go with the congee.

Posting from the car. Just picked up two different dry noodles from Phenom Penh. I am very excited. Smells so good!
