Yeah I dunno, doesn’t sound like someone who’s an active participant here. You’ve been here forever, participate, and credit FTC posts all the time. Some people are just looking for a reason to be mad at the world.
Stopped in for a quick pizza and drinks. New Lucifer on the menu. Pepperoni, green herb shaker, tomato. I’m down with this 100% and can’t wait to see further morphs
Also do the Frozen New Orleans! Quick milkshake before pie then a Melon Julius for dessert
Did you do a solo walk-in or did you have to make a reservation?
I’ve emailed before but this time I walked in. Cut it close tho. Got there at 6:20 and place was full besides two seats at the bar and the one center island. I sat at center island and a res claimed the bar seats a few minutes later.
One other solo walk-in got quoted 8 or 8:30, and a group got quoted the same thing, but they were all offered to enjoy drinks outside while waiting.
Place was full and turning the entire time I was there, while I sat there like this
ChatGPT approved our going:
I loved the sweet cheezus most! Wow that was fun!
Peony liked the tomato most but conceded sweet cheezus was “most exciting!”
gotta say i marvel at people who talk to AI chatbots at this level in their daily lives. Just dropping this here as a PSA: Effects of generative artificial intelligence on cognitive effort and task performance: study protocol for a randomized controlled experiment among college students - PMC
What’s the message you’re trying to convey here? That’s a publication of a study protocol where they’re going to try to measure
There’s no published result AFAIK. For all we know they’ll find it lowers cognitive effort and improves task performance (i.e. you work smarter, not harder) ![]()
My parents used to say I spent too much time on the Internet and it was unhealthy.
I don’t know.
I’ve given up trying to figure out what makes me happy.
I’m just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round, I really love to watch them roll.
sounds good and maybe a bit different than earlier permutations of the Satan / Lucifer (who are not necessarily the same entity of lore, but I digress). is it at all spicy?
frozen New Orleans and melon Julius sound like fun. I need to get back there.
We weren’t big fans of melon Julius. I had trouble even tasting alcohol.
Yeah I was happy to see this version on, both could have a place on the menu and I’d order them side by side
I have a decent tolerance so can’t really comment on spice level, tho I really love the kick on the chili condiment they give you sometimes
Frozen New Orleans and Melon Julius are the two best cocktails I’ve had at Lynx. The melon reminded me of the Honeysuckle Sour at Leopardo which I also loved.
I think Lynx pizzas are too spicy. The heat is an endorphin rush and provides an immediate Wow sensation. But for me it distracts from the other flavors. I think every single pizza has chiles. Either that or some pizzas are so spicy that the chiles linger in my mouth (and throat) the whole meal. We didn’t even have the Lucifer on our last visit.
took my daughter here and she asked “why does every pizza need to be spicy!? it’s pizza!!”
Because everything in LA is spicy! ![]()
Genius!
now open tuesdays
im still surprised each time how crazy good the crust is here. tomatoes were peak this visit. seasoning on the napoletana is still dialed in and lucifer now comes with a side of honey and chilies.
only note is the yuzu juice in the dessert makes the soft serve too watery.

We got the filetti and lucifer, and I really like the latest version of the lucifer. The sauces on the side are great for the crust too. Got the new melon, clover club (raspberry cocktail), and frozen new orleans. All three of them have interesting thicker mouthfeels, not sure what they are using, could just be egg white. Pretty sure the cream on top of the frozen new orleans has some stabilizer in it.
Sat at the bar this time so had a great view of the kitchen. I didn’t realize how much of the toppings are added to the pizza after cooking. I also really like where the dough has landed, thin, crisp, and airy. Pizzas are lightly sauced, if at all, and the slices have no flop.
Lynx and Vandell are my two favorite places for cocktails in LA right now.
To the three top behind us on Saturday who brought their own scissors (or maybe asked for them?), here, you dropped this: ![]()
What are these dipping sauces you speak of?
