Lynx sidetracks and meta

Saying they’re “both making pizza” is downplaying the reality here. They’re both auteur chefs pushing the science (and art) of dough and pizza making forward. The pizza style is not identical, but certainly in the same vein. People unfairly compare shit all the time, but in this case the comparison seems fair and warranted, and @ShadrackToussaint’s comment was both mild and factual…

There are so many other places on the internet to interact like this. Your comment was rude, dismissive, and not commensurate with the tenor of this forum or how either you or I typically behave on here.

I typically like your comments and presence on here, but imo your comment was unnecessarily personal. That said, all this warrants is a minor ‘my bad’ and keep it moving.

But why the harsh words toward Skenes? Has he done anything wrong except perhaps not being a great businessman?

I’ve said it above it’s not about being a bad businessman it’s how he consistently creates environments for people to spend a ton of money and have a bad customer experience. I’ve been burned so many times perhaps it’s my fault.

Okay. FWIW - I’ve had 25ish experiences with him as chef at Leopardo, Lynx, Angler LA, and Saison and they’ve all been excellent experiences. Maybe I got lucky? In interactions, he seems like a humble guy who cares a lot and wants to please people.

I respect and love chef skenes’s work. I think he is doing exceptional product and probably world best product in artisan pizza form and believe me I ate lot of pizzas in the world.

its foodie’s place so its freedom to compare and stuff but honestly just horned to be even mentioned. No where near his product level but even considering to compare is honor. But it’s always sad to see always have to be comparison.

I’m not sure chef skenes have same feeling but I support him and feels like he always support me. Why can’t we just enjoy? And support both business

We are so lucky to have you here!

I think your pizza vs Lynx is apples and oranges but same quality level and personal preference.

Forgive me father for I have sinned…

Anyway, it’s not that serious, and both @loaxley and @mzonelli explained it quite well, but relating repeated negative experiences at a restaurant is pretty standard for this forum.

That led to a proxy debate about what’s justified by genius. Disagreement is normal/fine, but my mild comments aren’t blasphemy.
