Maison Akira closes

It always seemed to have difficulty getting bookings other than weekends. A Little Tokyo venture is in the works for later this year.
Meanwhile, neighbor Sushi of Naples has become Aburi Sushi & Ramen and is packed perhaps in response to AYCE specials.

I’m glad to see that Chef Hirose is entering a new phase. He’s one of the hardest working guys in the chef business.

One of the first fancy places I went as a young adult (w/ my mother). Sorry to read of his passing.
