Their pizza has sustained many a Bruin (such as I) as we toiled through our studies at UCLA…
@rohto Unfortunately I don’t remember if there was a white pie at Lamonica’s, but I will check the next time I go, will definitely be back!
@j_l Lamonica’s and Enzo’s were our go-tos bitd as broke undergrads lol. Always great to see other Bruins on here
Did anyone ever figure out why that old Shakeys in Westwood was so bad?? It was legit an outlier, and tasted nothing at all like the other locations…
Alas, my undergrad days in Westwood predated Enzo’s. Probably dating myself by asking this, but does anyone recall Sak’s Teriyaki?
The better question: Were any Shakeys location ever good?
Go Bruins!
Pizza Hut
@ElsieDee is that feta on the pizza?
@J_L - can’t recall the last time I had Pizza Hut, though I would like to visit one of the Pizza Hut Classics.
Good eye, @hungryhungryhippos! Yes, there is feta on this pie.
Agree! I miss the salad bar, and those giant plastic cups filled to the brim with Pepsi and crushed ice. And the server who would bring the piping hot pie to the table, and plate everyone their first slice. #80s
@ElsieDee That looks old school good. Bambino’s? Big mama and papa’s?
Definitely on the right track.
Hint: it’s from a restaurant, not a place that specializes specifically in pizza.
Idk but that’s a nice looking cheese slice!
mama’s too?
Both places are in Pasadena.
Mama’s Too is so good, damn now i want a slice lol
Apollonia’s Crenshaw Square?
Brooklyn square?
Bingo, second time here, the square corners are solid
Damn, I had to drop something off in Pasadena yesterday and really wanted to go but I had to meet someone for lunch afterwards. Bastards.
lol I feel that way all the time when my non food friends choose bad restaurants
