This tiny OG claypot rice restaurant is legit AF. Love that place so I’m glad it finally has its own dedicated thread on FTC.

Soccarat is a guarantee there. :ok_hand:

Never noticed the soup menu. Soup is Cantonese AF and they might have the largest selection in SGV.

They have a whole mess of double boiled soup.

for those who enjoy clay pot rice, i’ve heard that there’s a place in the same mall as harlam’s kitchen that also makes clay pot rice, but i have yet to try the place myself.

Oh yeah, quite a soup selection. I had some rabbit soup with herbs there quite some time ago, like a decade ago perhaps this very day.

I also recalled they had something translated into English as “cough tea”, but the next time I had a throat/chest bug, I went in and they no longer had it. The waitress recommended something else soothing though. Some Winter Melon soup and a hot lemon coke at the Hong Kong Kitchen across the street helped. Memories.

chong yuen fong(?), the place that had the AI generated history has a surprisingly small menu that includes claypot rice though i have yet to try the place which is IIRC located near garfield & valley. according to some article i read they actually throw out their unused BBQ pork every night and make it fresh the next morning. i’ve seen a few recommendations for the place in the food in SGV FB group.

long time standout may mei in arcadia also offers claypot rice IIRC. there was also a decent place in the same mall as harlam’s kitchen but i think the pandemic did them in. the HK places like DFC & alice’s kitchen also offer claypot rice if memory serves. i think tam’s offers one as well and since their stuff overall is pretty good i imagine it wouldn’t disappoint either.
