New York musts for 2025?

This is a very lazy post but are there restaurants I need to try. Loved King on my last visit. Will be staying in Brooklyn but down to travel .

Corima and Kabawa are my two favorites right now.

Also a fan of Bridges which might gel if you like King.

Try Elbow bread in the AM as well

Beautiful, I’ll check these out!

Crown Heights this time. Staying with pals!

Cafe Mado and Places De Fetes (same team) near crown heights are also great bets

Smithereens > Bridges. But I liked both. Ban Anh-Em.

Never been to but everybody talks about this Radio Bakery in Brooklyn:

Radio is okay. The sandwiches are the best part.

And personally I hated smithereens! Everything lacked flavor, super bland. We much prefer Penny for that seafood vibe

Have you been? Banh has never totally clicked for me, though I do appreciate what they’re doing.

Not new but I always like Unapologetic Foods restaurants and don’t think there’s much like it in LA.

Yes, to the second pop-up weekend. It was great. I wrote it up on Hungry Onion, if you ever cruise around there. The snail soup and turmeric fish were my favorites.

Dhamaka’s still good, and a much easier reservation now.

I think Thai Diner menu is alot of fun!

Chrissy’s Pizza is in Greenpoint.

If I was in Brooklyn I would make it a priority to eat Caribbean in Flatbush and as much pizza I can handle.

Must-eat is a tough bar. But in the realm of worth checking out: Baazi on the UWS, Laghman Express in Bk, Chalong in Hells Kitchen, Masalawala in Bk.

The Caribbean Restaurant Reinventing the Momofuku Empire

this (Kabawa) and the bar next door sound most intriguing

I know it’s not nyc but bread and salt bakery in Jersey is amazing.

Their bomboloni vanilla one is better than one I ate in Italy.

I’ll be in NYC visiting fam/friends for a days
With the fam hitting up Rolo’s on the way in from JFK (mom’s pick - any good?) and Leitao (thanks @PeonyWarrior)…the have a pre-order sucking pig situation that my family will like

Now I need a place for a group of college friends - 8 peeps on a Sat night in mid-June that is reservable/get-into-able btween central park and canal
Nothing very fancy, no tasting menus, no high end Japanese, no waiting on lines
We did ci siamo last time and it was a hit
Don Angie or Isodi would be perfect but too hard to reserve

Something like an NYC version of Majordomo or a Funke-type place would work

Any ideas?
TY

I’ve done a couple of group events at Blue Willow (Sichuan in a nice setting and with good cocktails) – they have private rooms upstairs. Worked great for diverse groups, and they will adjust dishes for vegetarians or other food accommodations.
