We’re finally coming back and this time in town for 10 days. So the key is to find great food but do it in a way that keeps us from feeling too fat, too full, etc.
We plan to hit Tomino Taberna (loved it last time), Una Pizza, Little Alley (2x as a way to get a lighter meal), Leitao, Ci Siamo, Hakka Cuisine and Zaytinya.
We have a few dinners open and would love some new ideas. More importantly though, what are some good ideas for lighter fare at lunch? We love soup noodles, sandwiches, pizza, etc.
I usually stay in that area bc it’s close to my office.
On 34th street you can pick up Utopia Bagels and Russ & Daughters. They are like 6-7 avenues away from each other but the right combination of great bagel and great fish.
Lot of good ramen in the area. Ippudo. Ichiran. Totto. Yakitori Totto is also a great option.
+1 on Mamas Too and L’Industrie
Zillions Pizza closer to you is on my list and I’ve never been. Gets good reviews.
You can find it online pretty easy but they have this “Combe Bazin” Chardonnay from Domaine de Chassorney on the bottle list that’s really cool. Never been to King but I love that bottle
so crazy.. one of my oldest closest friends just got a job operating the food program for the lincoln center, which includes Tatiana! so homie is chilling knocking back wines at the end of the day with chef K.. taaaa ffaaak
bumping this - in West Chelsea for three days for work. Anything particularly exciting there / anywhere south of 23rd that’s emerged in the last 2-3 years that I should seek out for dinner? Was considering Markette, Bartolo, Ops.
A new Francis Mallmann restaurant, La Boca, was supposed to open this summer in West Chelsea - but have yet to hear anything about it. Also, technically north of 23rd on 26th but Marcus Samuelson’s Swediopian fusion restaurant, Hav & Mar.
A few blocks East but Caffe Panna ice cream is superb. I really like the Red Flag which is sweet cream ice cream with strawberry swirl and graham crackers.
Just had a couple days in New York and got into Tatiana off the stand by line (starts forming at 4pm, got a table for 3 around 5:15, had a rep on line - my niece - so it was a win all around). This is a great option and apparently they do it daily given that they’re booked out every day on the day resys are available. Small group so just 5 plates but it was excellent.
