ÔDE by Jônt

LA is getting a good one! Looks like Chef Ryan Ratino is opening up a restaurant in LA this year, ÔDE by Jônt.

Many consider Jônt to be the best restaurant in DC at the moment. Ryan Ratino has 4 total restaurants that have at least 1 Michelin star - 2 in DC and 2 in Florida. I’m sure it won’t be cheap since the restaurant is partnering with Petrossian.

It will be located inside the Petrossian Boutique in WeHo.. 321 N Robertson Blvd

In regard to the name, I believe it’s a play on the word for Jaunt, which means a journey for pleasure.

same thought, I would be embarrassed to eat here based off the accent marks alone.

Haven’t been since their first year open but Jont was one of our biggest disappointments in DC. Major focus on flashy ingredients and tailoring the meal for Michelin accolades. No sense of place even with many local ingredients.

Had a similar experience at Jont in DC. The food is good, but they felt really thirsty for the third star, and kept trying to upsell me.

That being said, the nearly $1000 top tier wine pairing seemed absurd to me, but my neighbor got some crazy pours that made it worth it. I remember seeing Vega Sicilia, DRC and Conterno, but this was a few years ago.

For what it’s worth, imo DCs best restaurant is Albi. It was the second best new restaurant I went to last year, beat out only by Hayato. Still think about that hummus
