Gonna be there tomorrow for a taekwondo tourney. What’s better these days Pie Life or Tomato Pie? I used to frequent Pie Life which was very good but it’s been a very long time. Might need to pick up a few pies for a bunch of hungry kids.
I might slightly prefer Pie Life, though I think they’re both totally solid+ NY-ish pizzerias in the same tier, and you probably won’t go wrong. Either one should make a big group of kids quite happy.

I had Pie Life about 2 years ago and I thought it was also some pretty damn solid NYC pie. If I lived in SGV I wouldn’t mind having them a few times a month.
That is some good pizza for kids. I would just give them some Costco pizza lol

Haha Costco is not close and the parents need to eat too. I was leaning Pie Life bc of the nostalgia factor when I used to go there for lunch and it was good legit NY pizza.

I have a family who goes there over the years and says it’s pretty consistently good.

i don’t mind pie life but their crust is like cardboard to me.
I’d pick U street pizza over all 3 but it’s more expensive
Also Brooklyn Square is pretty decent

U Street looks good but that’s for another time when we sit down for a meal.
Slices before we head into the tourney. I kinda hear you on the cardboard crusts but still delicious nonetheless. Kids loved the cheese bread. A lot of oregano and herbs on the cheese bread and the marinara.

I never got into U Street. My first visit there was downright bad.
I have business in the area tomorrow morning.
Is the smart play to hit Colette for brunch?

Brunch was a good idea here. We were on Colorado Blvd and it’s a madhouse.
A couple of dim sum bites and some hot tea worked for us. I noticed that the fried items this time were a little more greasy than my last visit. But the house made XO sauce is delicious.
The dim sum items were okay. Not sure why folks celebrate it so much…my har gow wrappers disintegrated when picked up with chopsticks.
Still love the garlic broccoli since greens should always accompany dim sum.

Their dimsum is just ok to me. Like you said it’s kinda oily. The shrimp egg rolls tho are GOAT
I was surprised how much I enjoyed the sticky rice topped with mozzarella cheese.
