Good to know. Have never had a meal there that leaves me wanting to return. Will give it another go.
I can actually totally understand both POVs.
Partner wanted seafood, so we ate at Fishwives yesterday. The vibe (âlow stakesâ really is the perfect phrase) and menu totally fit our mood, as did an immediately available table (we walked by Union and saw a very large crowd outside). Partner loved his lobster roll (and we had a minor tragedy when one lump of claw meat fell onto the ground).
I enjoyed my fish and chips. But I prefer Ye Olde Kingâs Head (just for the fish alone, and mainly for the crust) or Lobsta Truck for those specific dishes (never thought Iâd say a lobster roll had a wee bit too much melted better, but that was my take on yesterdayâs roll).
But I canât get a lobster roll at Kingâs Head or a fish and chips at Lobsta Truck. The prices seemed fair for the quality of food served. And the servers there were really, really lovely (I cannot describe the expression on the serverâs face when I asked if the lemonade was housemade). So, if I were in the area and had a craving for seafood, I would be happy to return.
Knew the recs were all close by but didnât realize how they insanely close they are to each other. Maybe Iâll do a bang-bang next time. ![]()
