There’s no respect but the pastrami Reuben on pumpernickel with whisky on the side at cantors is effective late night.
Agree. Finally ate there 100% sober and it wasn’t half bad. As a bonus, saw Angelyne and her pink corvette, lol.
Peach Crunch Cake and her Sweet Potato dessert thing, I forgot the name! He will smoke a turkey for Thanksgiving and he has a relative, I think, that will fry a turkey, ask him about that, I could be wrong!
A good place, maybe, but a great place should be able to supply the demand until dinner time. I put up JnJ’s ribs at 6 or 7pm against thaat underwhelming Horse Theif any day. They are lazy, need to start cooking at 2 or 3 in the morning and know your demand so you can have BBQ all day long. I am still annoyed by the portion and taste of Horse Theif for what they charge.
I all the years I’ve been eating pastrami I’ve never tried Johnnie’s Pastrami in Culver City. Is it better than The Hat? Is it somewhere that will satisfy my cravings?

It’s worse than the hat.
Not Pastrami but Langer’s posted this beautiful photo of the balls of MacArthur park lake (across the street from Langer’s Deli). Go see the balls…. then go eat some pastrami…

I saw those balls driving by a while ago and thought he park was on acid. Looks like EDC came back to LA at Mac Park.
Nice picture. I wonder if they had some pastrami after the shoot.
What are these fucking balls about ???
I really want that fucking peach cake.
Bb get on it already.
And that ain’t no fucking joke.
Unfortunately, his mom has retired from the desserts making. Talk about a good lady, good family. They are just good people!
Cheeseburger in paradise overated when there’s langers pastrami to be had. Also noting Joe Biden and Jimmy Buffet twins.

Well I know what I’m bringing to the Hollywood bowl next time.
Got a lb of brisket too. Super juicy.
I don’t see how anyone can give Katz a pass on that rye bread.
Especially when I’m sure there’s good rye bread to be had in NYC. Not a resident, but people rave about Orwasher’s, for example. I’ve had better rye bread from the grocery store than the stuff Katz serves.
The pastrami seems to get a pass too. It’s good. Sometimes great. Sometimes dry. I don’t get it when I’m there anymore. Still a Carnegie guy for the pastrami. For me a bit less salty still juicy but the size of that sandwich is a selling point no doubt. The tourist trap these days in nyc isn’t Carnegie. It’s Katz.
I wanted a snack at Carnegie (I know I’m an idiot) so me and my bro got potato pancakes and strawberry cheesecake to avoid the seat charge. Hahahaha
Three potato pancakes the size and of a car rim(slight exaggeration) but I killed maybe half of one potato pancake and a few bites of the cheesecake.
I love going there and watching the people’s reaction when they get their food.
