We were warned. It’s too late now. No, there’s no climate change/global warming.
More cheerful stuff:
Oh yeah. I moved to SF in '76 and it didn’t rain for 18 months. In the late 80s in SF we had water rationing. IIRC we got 50 gpp/day. It’s too late people.
Sorry to be such a downer. This situation just keeps getting worse and worse and worse. So people want “olive oil, risotta rice and passata supplies” but “NEED” their friggin’ lawns. Sorry, I won’t do this again.
I think you’re being realistic, Cath, and respect that.
I’m somewhere between “We’re royally fucked/Humanity is a blight” and … . Not optimistic, not hopeful.
Wondering when we’ll see mass migration within the country due to climate crisis.
Wondering when we’ll bail out of SoCal, too.
Thanks, ED. I moved to SF while still in my 20s so have been dealing with drought for 50 years! I’m out of patience. We just moved last year from Reno/Tahoe to Seattle. When in Reno we removed all our lawn and planted sedums, trees, and shrubs and reduced our water bill by 50%. Our new house has lawn in front where we already have the plan to get rid of it.
Or need “freedom.” ::shudder::
Honestly, if humanity wipes itself out, we totally have deserved it.
Back to the topic.
Yep. And from what I read the US is one of the very worst.
