Yep, @JeetKuneBao posted they’ll be reopening.
cote du boeuf, but thats an easy choice.
Not really a fan of the petite tender (teres major) too lean and ropy texture. I probably overcooked it a bit too.
Surprisingly the CAB delmonicos were more favored by my staff and I vs the American Wagyu delmonicos.
Please let me know ahead of time when you do this for 2 reasons: (1), So that I may notify the Trauma Team in the Emergency Department ahead of time to expect an impending transport for gastric rupture in the field, and (2) so that I may join you.
With you @J_L and @PorkyBelly doing that bang x 5? You’ll be fine!
Wait, unless you both decide to add 3 letters: OOE at all 5 places.

Ummm… Let’s just say if he practiced within his specialty on me for a gastric rupture, well… it’s been nice knowing ya’…
Partner felt the hankering for a fried chicken sandwich, so tried Main Chick from Colony Cooks on SaMo Blvd. in West LA:
The pictured combo is $13. An a la carte chicken sandwich is $5.50.
It wasn’t bad, although this doesn’t rank anywhere near Howlin’ Rays or Huckleberry (and you wouldn’t expect it to, for the price). The medium level isn’t one-note and has fairly good depth of flavor. Crust was crunchy in some sections. The tender was ordered spicy. It seemed to simply have more chili powder added, which led to a rather unpleasant caking on the tongue. Slow burn was pleasant, though. The fries would only be good if they offered an option for extra crispy.
The food has potential. And, for $5.50, WTF are you gonna complain about?
The Colony Cooks itself, though, gets a solidly failing grade b/c the person handing us the food had their mask pulled down. Sorry, that’s just not acceptable right now. Couldn’t find any contact info for management to inform them of the problem.
Does anyone know if any of the KBBQ places are offering curbside pickup of raw/marinated meats and full spread of banchan and accouterments?
I’m glad they’re back, no char siu yet. Hope they bring that back soon
