Last time I went in, their pizza’s were on the happy hour menu. I think they were something crazy like $12 each.
This isn’t really news, as it’s been discussed here before, but they’re clearly sending out fresh press releases: Gott’s Roadside Sets Opening Date for Santa Monica Location - Santa Monica News, Events & Local Politics | Santa Monica Mirror
Mind you, I stopped at the location at the Farmer’s Market a few months ago, and it didn’t hold up particularly well. My prior experiences in the bay area had been generally positive, but that location left me underwhelmed…
The play at Gotts is the soft serve. Also their onion rings are top notch. My current favorites. I also may have had soft serve and a side of their fries. They come out hot and well salted. They are very much like natural cut McDonalds fries.
Did I miss something, or was there not an actual date in that “article?” Oy.
Regardless of the quality of the food, I think the fengshui of that entire corner cannot, unfortunately, be overcome. But I would like to be proven wrong.
It’s dated June 25 (above the headline).
Sorry, I meant opening date for the restaurant (unless Fall 2026 is what most would consider an opening date).
It’s smart not to guess at an opening date very far in advance given everything that can delay it.
To be fair, the headline is “Gott’s Roadside sets opening date…” so you would assume there would be an actual date, not a vague Fall 2026.
Santa Monica is notorious for its painfully slow approvals process.
Gott’s Roadside has set a fall 2026 opening date for its second Southern California location in Santa Monica.
FYI still doesn’t really look close and every time I go by (kids love the park so it’s often) there’s nobody working
So odd because the outside seems to have been done for a while
Is Pontu technically considered Santa Monica? Anyway I’m at Pontu at the moment and I love the vibes and salad is pretty good too. Fantastic patio.
Will add pics later since they don’t seem to be loading
I always assumed that anything west of “that” Centinela Ave was Santa Monica! And I think the street signs are also in the Santa Monica style.
Is this your first time there? I also agree that the patio is great.
Pinging @robert so that he is aware of a possible pic-loading issue.
Yes, my first time here! Had the salad which was like a Peruvian Cobb salad and pretty tasty. I’ll be back
Pontu is a great addition to Santa Monica. Chill vibes on their secluded patio, and well-prepared Peruvian chicken…
Where?
@aaqjr mentioned in post 352 that he couldn’t load pics.
It’s been awhile sine I’ve been to Takuma, but I was driving by just now and saw a small sign for kushiage!
