Source for SAND POT

I have been using Chinese Sand Pots my whole life but little by little, the places I bought them have disappeared. Is anyone out there familiar with where I can find a large selection of sizes? They are usually brown, usually unglazed, have a nice sandy sound when the lid is put on.

Thanks for any help.

TS Emporium or SG Supertore (SW Corner of San Gabriel Blvd and Valley)

Or Amazon.

I’ll have to figure out where City of Industry is but I’ll soon know … and the other. Sand pots served me well for practically everything … my whole life. [I’m actually 70!!!] … but Chinatown has changed and I am not as familiar with places further out.
I’ll try to get there in the next couple of days.

It is so interesting that you brought up this topic. I’ve been researching clay pots of various types. Clay pots were one of the very first crafted items used by humans, together with reed baskets, fish hooks and stone blades.

I haven’t ever cooked in a clay pot, and am interested in any advice you or others may have.

@ipsedixit. We don’t all read Chinese! What is the American language address for this place, please. (Show off. )

Here you go.

I clicked the groovy little box that says “ English” on the website.

That wasn’t very nice.

Thank you, I didn’t see that.

I didn’t see what you wanted on their site, but this https://www.wokshop.com/ is a good source for many Chinese cooking tools. Hopefully something there will match your needs.

Excellent!!! They are right on the first page. Under “CROCKERY” …
However almost all of them are out of stock.
Another thing I have learned is no never buy the ones with wire surrounding the bowl … it can’t be microwaved.
Gives me hope! Thanks.

Some metal can be microwaved. If you contact The Wok Shop they can let you know. They’re SUPER reputable.

I remember getting a pricy bottle of “gourmet” chocolate ice cream sauce and put it in the micro for a “hot fudge” effect.

Every fire alarm in the house was going off. Full on fire in micro. That foil and fire is dangerous!

My first time using a microwave, foil and fire were involved.

I am glad it may be of use to your quest. I want to give credit to where I found this, http://blog.themalamarket.com/. Its a wonderful site and I have gained great ingredients (Sichuan pepper to numb you better than Novocain), and wonderful recipes from them. Plus I love that this woman has spent so much effort for her adopted daughter’s behalf.
Happy New Year to all!
