Thh still good after their expansion some of the sandwiches at the red hill location weren’t that great my last time?
I wish it was closer driving there from where I live is around 30-40 min each way
South Bay. Add 20 minutes to your commute just to get to the 110 or the 405 lol
Nice find! I think you low key found a Southern Thai specialist in the South Bay of all places!
What do you recommend there?
virtually everything I tried is great. I’d say order whatever Thai dishes you like to order and you’ll be solid. Even the boat noodles are good.
I see they have a Culver City location too, any reports?
THH is the only place that doesn’t charge extra for extra pâté. My sister loves them just for that alone.
We like hidden garden as well!
Bread head there’s a bit of exaggeration about the size of the sandwiches. I ate almost two whole ones. If you have a petite appetite maybe you could stretch it to two meals. The focaccia is very good favorites were the pesto turkey and grinder, roasted pork was ok.
They changed the sizes so as to not confuse people. The original “whole” sandwich was double the size of what is now one sandwich (one whole baked focaccia). My favorites are the mozz and (surprisingly) BLT.
Thanks for the info and welcome back?!?! Can’t wait to be hei-fluenced again, I saw a lot of ppl ordering blt I’ll have to go back for that.
I kept on telling the wife to order the large and she kept on saying there’s no sizes lol.
The ice cream game in South Bay… We were debating Lunada Creamery or Ugo Cafe but went with the latter because we ate next door… Flying Fin Sushi, lol, which is a whole other story. It’s fine for heavily sauced rolls but at least the rice is 10x better than at Japonica. My kids loved it so IIWIS.
Ugo gelato - the flavors are on point, but its a very light and airy gelato. It practically feels healthy eating it. The lemon gelato (dairy free) was actually quite good, but not really a gelato imo… almost a bit icy. But the real star is their famed pumpkin pie. My wife and I loved it. Not too sweet, creamy texture, perfectly spiced and a nice graham crust that doesn’t really get noticed until the end. Possibly the best pumpkin pie we’ve ever had!
Ugo is def on the radar!
A Tommy Atticus and redwood pie double stop. Technically not a bang bang because I didn’t eat the bread until I got home!
this looks wildly small compared to any of their pictures. i was looking forward to the westwood one but haven’t had a chance to try it yet.
Apparently they changed the sizes?
Read on Reddit that vanshow is becoming kimukatsu. Looks to be a katsu chain of some sort in Japan. Any one have any more info or insight?
There was a restaurant by that name on Sawtelle for years. They specialize in a layered pork katsu a kinda pork breaded and fried cutlet.
