Got jeet-fluenced @JeetKuneBao auntie mailes.

Fried expertly with a great furikake flavor but it was too sweet for me without a savory counter balance. Usually when I’ve had it elsewhere it’s either garlicky or spicy too.

Should’ve gone with one of the loco mocos!

Dinner.

That kimbap is a great buy.

I do like things on the sweeter side though.

Orange chicken, sweet and sour pork, tomato and eggs (with ketchup as secret ingredient), beef and tomato

Katsu Bar, tamago sando! Never had Lawsons or 711 so I have no comparisons. Wanted a sandwich while doing some laptop work at Sbux

Nope that was my first time. What’s your move at Katsu Bar?

@JeetKuneBao please go to Komatsu in Torrance. You’ll love it. I’m sure.

Kotohira udon is so good

I personally like the Katsu Rice Bowl (which is their version of a katsu-don). I like Sawtelle Tempura House better, but Katsu Bar is much easier for me to access. I assume Komatsu might be more like Sawtelle Tempura House (eg., better than Katsu Bar, which is tasty but a “corporate”).

That Hamburg at Komatsu looks insanely good

I love Sawtelle Tempura House! Haven’t been since the older couple retired.

If you are craving katsu and you are in Torrance you gotta check out Red Rock’s katsu with curry/rice

The katsu, katsu don and tempura are all very tasty at komatsu.

I haven’t had any misses there. Straight down the middle fastballs. No frills. Just good Japanese teishoku.

Lunch:
Hamburg
Pork Katsu (better than Kagura. Don’t @ me)
Katsu don
Kakiage don
1-night dried & grilled fish
Ni-sakana

Dinner:
Lots of good Izakaya dishes
He used to serve raw liver, reba zashi

Man. I need to get back there…

Kansha Creamery

Izakaya Hachi

Then things just came out whenever they came out. There was an order, but not exactly the order list on the card. The courses came out rather fast and furious.

The tofu with anchovy, ryu & greenery packed a punch of flavor! It came out first.

Tonight’s assortment: tuna, snapper, toro & yellowtail

Not sure what kind of oysters, but they were extremely meaty and creamy. Served with lemon, green onion, seasoned horseradish and ponzu.

Radish & octopus salad

We opted for Motsu Nabe. Which remains delicious and while I love noodles, I’d rather have the rice so it turns into porridge.

I feel like kagura has gone down hill last couple of times weren’t that good.

Also Kanshas hours are so annoying tried to get it after dinner last night but what ice cream place closes at 6pm?
