My favorite is the tempura nori, always order extra.
I’ve never thought about ordering extra thats a great idea, I always use the nori as a chip and scoop the soy sauce rice onto it like dip
That is also good!
I wonder if I can get a bowl of just multiple eggs and nori strips

So I got kabocha salad, garlic stems, sesame leaf, and ferns.
Also the japchae I got was pretty generous with the veggies.
I’ve had two lackluster tempura omakase meals at I-Naba the past year. Pretty baffling given their former standard of quality.
I only really enjoyed Wadatsumi when Yoshi-san was working there in a non-creative role, and even then, it was fine.
But yeah, you’re absolutely right about Matsui. It’s not bad, it’s just rustic.
Tommy Atticus and wadatsumi bang bang
Got the last pumpkin pie croissant very good and very pumpkin piey. Crust was flaky and had hints of butter but def not chaumont level. Would go back for additional pastries or bread next time. They were super busy.
Wadatsumi delicious deluxe chirashi bowl. Only miss was the uni which was a little brown and of lower quality not melt in your mouth ocean flavor. Otherwise all the seafood was pristine. Will have to go back for the beef bowl.
Reminds me I need to pickup a sourdough loaf at Tommy and Atticus.
Love the beef bowls at Wadatsumi. I wish they have a surf and turf with beef and tuna
Yes I was secretly hoping for like a 2 mini bowl combo where I could have seafood and a beef but alas it was not to be.
Dude! What’s the move at Shoya? Will try to go when I’m on my back to LA from OC!
Did anyone else notice a brand new Ranch 99 in Torrance on 190th near Normandie?
That’s awesome if there is one but that seems so close to the one near harbor gateway.
Eboshi I’ve never had chuka good before but the iron chef Mapo yaki and stir fried negi ramen were really damn good will definitely return
The one on Artesia has a terrible parking lot though lol
I really like the oden and beef tendon stew!
Damn I gotta get that!
Anyone been to tamean japanese bbq or yamaya?
Anyone had the beef (Hamburg or roast beef?) curry rice at Wadatsumi?
How about Red Rock’s curry and omurice with demi glacé?
I’ve had the beef stew lunch special at Yamaya.
Been to Tamaen many times at the Lomita location.
The wagyu cube cut gyutan is amazing and the prime outside skirt. The wagyu uni nigiri is delicious as well. I have had the thin sliced gyutan and it just didn’t hit the same like the cube cut. The wagyu dry aged ribeye is damn good however not warranted the price considering the prime outside skirt is just fatty enough with that same flavor you get from the rib cap. Definitely a splurge but I didn’t find it necessary unless you like overly excessive fat. You also have to baby it because it really flames up on the grill. If someone has never had A5 wagyu, definitely try it out.
I usually get two orders of the wagyu cut gyutan, it is that good.
They normally have Miyazaki A5 wagyu but I have other varieties as well.
Sho-chu hi ball with grapefruit or draft beer is my preference with this type of meal.
Thanks for the info that’s exactly what I needed to know!
