Just wanted to shoutout Gaburi Chicken for their izakaya fare. The chicken is obviously the star of the show, but really enjoyed their cabbage salad, grilled saba, tako wasa, eggplant agebitashi (seasonal special), and sake-steamed clams (seasonal special).
Carnitas mirador between Anaheim and pch on Wilmington blvd, tucked away in the corner of the back corner of an auto repair garage. Only open mornings Saturday and Sunday
Very good carnitas with mixed cuts I opted for a buche and trompa heavy surtida. One lb for 16 bucks plus the fixings I made tacos and chilaquiles
Wanted to also say that fatto a Mano makes the best take home pasta. Better than pasta sisters imo.
Used the pasta to make ragu and pea pesto
Back at Cloud Naan in Carson, which is becoming our favorite dining spot. The food is very good, and the staff are very friendly. The dal has a wonderful and deep flavor; it’s listed as the “vegetable of the day” on the menu. We mentioned how much we liked it, and the owner promptly gave us more to take home. The Chicken Biryani is very good, but can’t match the dal’s high mark. They later brought out a dessert called Sooji Hawla for us to sample. Posting Rose Tea again to show the complete setup.
Wow great find will have to go check it out soon!
Is it Cloud Naan? That’s the only place w/ a similar name I could in Carson (based on an internet search).
It’s Cloud Naan. Thx for the heads up.
They were very kind and helpful at Cloud Naan. The Chicken Karahi and garlic naan were excellent, though the mango lassi was a bit thicker than I would have liked and could have used more mango flavor.
will def check it out!
How was the sandwich? It looks terrific.
Great rieras is one of my favorite local lunch spots in South Bay
izakaya hachi still going strong. torrance location is better than the costa mesa one, imo. busy but got 2 at the bar walking in no problem at 7:30pm.
pretty much everything was good, particularly the oshizushi. fried oyster, grilled oyster, snapper yuzu carpaccio, kamo rosu, beef tongue, yuzu pork cheek, ebi chili, negitoro and torotaku makis all enjoyable. tamagoyaki not quite my style (it was a little bit well done and tasted strongly of shrimp; i prefer softer layers with more dashi taste. Sobar’s is better imo).
am i getting confused or did they used to have a butakimchi?
Jus’ Poke. very good as far as the poke goes. didn’t love the neon green seaweed salad, though. i’d just get a pound of the shoyu for takeout for a nice picnic somewhere.
shoyu poke, local’s wasabi poke.
The auntie cucumbers are the best side imo
Completely agree!
Am also a fan of the gobo chips.
Was craving Chinese food, and Fu Sing has been closed since the chef is under the weather, so me and the wifey drove out to Chinese Kitchen in Hawthorne. A lot of food and good quality for the price.
