Hidden Garden - Thai restaurant in a Torrance strip mall off Western. May even be Gardena.

Newish place that we’ve been meaning to try. Definitely recommend! They do an OK business, but I’d love to see them stick around…

HG Signature Noodles, which were like a pad see euw but a bit lighter with more “smokiness.” I didn’t even get to try it bc my boys wolfed it down.

Khao Soi was delicious. Appreciated that the egg noodles were a bit more al dente than most places. A huge chicken drumstick that was perfectly stewed - tender but not too soft. The broth was nice too - not too sweet and very balanced.

Isaan Sausage was excellent as well. Can’t explain why, but it just had a snap to it that you dont usually get in the Thai sausages.

Mango Sticky Rice. The mangoes were perfectly ripe. The sticky rice was more savory than sweet which I really appreciated. I like the salty/sweet contrast!

Coconut Ice Cream. Had a bit but my boys ate it all. I love the texture. Icy but still somehow creamy. Not too sweet but full of coconut flavor.

The owner is a good dude. Seems a bit gruff but a very nice guy!

Any reports on how good it is? As good as the sit down restaurants?

Haven’t tried yet. Selection is limited. Sorry about menu for ants.

Was just at the regular place the other day. Can’t wait to go to the express!

I had a great dinner here a few weeks ago too. Might be the best new Thai spot in the South Bay, and the ambience/decor is quite nice.

YES! I didn’t want to say that because we frankly haven’t gone to many of Thai places near us. But the ones we have gone to are terrible. This one gives me great hope and while I hate when good places good too busy, I’d love to see them stick around!

How does it compare to the loc in Culver? Just curious whether it’s better or the same.

Easiest bang bang ever lol, reminds of when hannosuke was good at the westside mitsuwa. I’ve also never had the veggie tempura bowl. It was great!

Redwood pie is so good. Specifically loving the Jersey style with hand crushed tomatoes topped after the cheese and the spicy sausage with pickled Calabrian chilis.

Can’t get enough of it. Currently my favorite ny ish style pie in the city.

Redwood Pie’s Upside Down/Trenton/Jersey pie. I love upside downs because the first taste you get is those tomatoes. I don’t think there is too many of these in LA. Regional style from Jersey but also seen in Philly and NYC.

Redwood is a hybrid of NYC and Neapolitan per owner. Taking the best that he believes in each style
