I’m ordering these 3 dishes around town to compare.
Mezes on Danforth
Pork stick was $6, chicken stick was $7.
Restaurants in the Pape Village are a bit more modest than the restaurants on Danforth.
The skewers and salads are typically cheaper on Pape Ave.
Pape Village Restaurant: small horiatiki ($13, very generous for a small, dressing on the side when it’s take-out) , 1 chicken stick ($5.50), 1 pork stick($5) . The feta was creamier and less salty, and the tomatoes were better here. These 3 items come to $26 and change including tax. I think the salad is as good as the salad at Mezes and Pantheon.
Masa Buka on Pape.
a small Horiatiki ($13.50, also a generous size, already dressed good quality olive oil ) , 1 chicken stick ($5.50) and 1 pork stick ($5.25). The souvlaki was juicier and had a nicer marinade at Masa Buka. These 3 dishes came to $27.40 including tax..
Both Masa Buka and Pape Village serve souvlaki that is on par with Mezes and Pantheon.
The Pape Village Restaurant pork stick is on top, Masa Buka pork stick is below it. Masa Buka’s tzatziki was creamier and less garlicky than Pape Village’s.
Masa Buka looks more like a fast casual restaurant, and its menu is more limited than Pape Village, Mezes, or Pantheon.
Both Masa Buka and Pape Village have patios and are open until 10 pm on Sunday nights. Staff are hospitable at both restaurants.
