Try telling them how you want to course things out. We do that and have never had issues there. They brought the courses exactly how we told them.
Last night was our favorite meal there. I don’t think it has gone downhill.

The idea of specifying in an Italian restaurant that I would like my pasta course before the mains is very groundbreaking for me.
Wait… $80 didn’t get you the whole fish!? It’s already not that large
just looked at my bill. that night fish was not branzino but orata, yet a very small filet was $80 ( I wish it took photos).
I really should have known where things were going when our server said his name was “Lenin” (for real)!
Nice wine list, agree.
yeah that orata was a very small filet and nothing special about it.
W: This is solidly my favorite Italian restaurant in LA, over good competition. I like the breadth of dishes and flavors.
P: They are better every time I visit. The seasoning and the flavor are improved. I don’t feel the flavors are intuitive to my palate, and I don’t like it as much as Warrior.
Best menu items tonight: branzino crudo, corn, allspice leaf amaro.
The sorbet is the best I’ve ever had.
Love their homemade amari.
People may easily mistake this for Beverly Hills Italian — boring and catering to the wealthy — but this is actually rustic, regional Italian.
Stella I love you.
It’s sad that rustic food is $$$$, but that’s not unique or new.
Has anyone been here recently? Going tomorrow for the first time in about a year. Yelp doesn’t seem favorable to them (not that I use that as a judge). Any must orders?
Su filindeu, amaro…
we go often.
must-order dishes: branzino crudo, sorbet
recommended dishes: burrata pugliese with caviar, cacio e pepe, orecchiette, duck, homemade amari
Just saw some of the prices - and yes, it is an expensive area but $79 for branzino crudo, $46 for orecchiette or $59 for cacio e pepe are “interesting” prices especially if one looks at the pictures and reviews
to be fair, the branzino is a whole branzino that they carve up tableside.
with black truffle
whole fish carved table side
if your server’s name is Lenin (not kidding) - ask to move to another section.
Branzino crudo is nice.
It seems like this place has an uber wide range of outcomes when it comes to service. A bit dicey at that price point.
Yes, comrade!
Is this place still worth it? Thinking of going with a group of 6 next week
Very nice interior
Inconsistent service
High quality ingredients, high ambition
Outstanding selection of side vegetables
Not a crowd pleaser. Not Osteria Mozza, where I would feel safer taking a group of six.
Good wine list.
My favorite Italian restaurant in LA these days, in large part due to the interesting and evolving menu.
