Taco stand at Bundy/Goshen

Does anyone know anything about the taco stand that pops up on Wed or Thurs nights at Bundy/Goshen in Brentwood (on the sidewalk right outside the Ralphs)?

Hahahhaah I’ve been meaning to ask you about it! It looks nice driving by but it’s the last location i would have expected to see a trompo lol

Hah! I was actually wondering if you had already tried it! This place is SUPER close to me. But I keep forgetting about it and already have dinner in the car when I drive by. But maybe I’ll remember this wk so that I can report back.

It’s been MIA for the last 2 Thursdays. I suspect it is gone for good (I never saw anyone there and never got to try it myself). Argh.

There’s a taco truck near the Bossa Nova in West LA (outside of the 99 cent store) that was SWAMPED the one time I drove by. Maybe I’ll try that. ::sigh::

That one is good.

Was driving on Lincoln a bit south of Rose (I think; I was driving north from Washington) in Venice/MDR yesterday. Saw what seemed like a pretty big setup on the west side of Lincoln in front of a business that has “Allen” (or Allan’s?) in the name. The line for the place was pretty long.

Has anyone tried this place?

The taco stand at Bundy/Wilshire is back!!! (not sure if it’s the same one or diff) I already had dinner by the time I drove by tonight, but I hope someone tries it!!!

Tried it last night. The vendor is “Tacos La Flamita Mixe.”

This was, IMHO, absolutely solid (and having it so close by makes it a winner, IMHO). I had sudero, buche, and asada tacos and a horchata. Parter had asada and some other taco and a chicken quesadilla.

Partner and I agree that, for flavor, the stand on Centinela and Venice is better. I think the appearance and texture of the proteins at La Flamita are (much) better. Not too oily. Partner likes Ruben’s Tacos trunk better for flavor; I disagree (I feel that Ruben’s scratches an itch).

Asada had a nice smokiness, the buche wasn’t overly chewy or funky (which is a plus for me, although perhaps not for hardcore organ fans).

Only “weird” thing was that, after my 3 tacos + 1/4 of the quesdilla, I was still STARVING. The vendor is not stingy w/ the protein, so not sure why I was still so hungry.

The chopped salsas were gorgeous and vibrant (much more vibrant than the pic indicates). Didn’t try any, though. Salsa de arbol seemed more balanced than what I’ve had elsewhere.

Horchata was super, SUPER sweet (I would not want it any sweeter).

They were busy last night. Hope they stay busy and remain in the area!
