What is a taco del gaujolota? When I look up “guajolota” in Wikipedia, it seems to refer to a torta (and also implies that the torta can have a variety of filling).
And why do I ask at all? I was driving by Santa Monica Blvd. and Broxton Brockton in West LA, and I saw a stand (in the same strip mall that houses Monte Alban) that says it has “Tacos del Guajolotas” (IIRC, and it’s not a word I was knew b/f) and puerco and cabeza. Hmmm…
And now that I’ve re-read the Wikipedia entry, it’s apparently a tamal served as a sandwich. So I guess this vendor is serving a tamal wrapped by a tortilla??? Sounds a little weird. May try it soon.
