I guess I was 15 minutes too late. When I got there the police were throwing all the food away. The sad part aside from ruining the workers hard work, is that the food could have been at least saved for the many homeless encampments down the street.
I also went down the street to Tacos Los Martinez and it appears they were shutdown as well with only a grill with hot coals still in place. They make a mean carne asada burrito, best in the immediate area.
I don’t know what went down here because @thechez5’s post was scrubbed, but I heard and judging by your comments and Robert’s mocking post I can imagine. Good job running off a prolific poster, guys.
The place was closed for a few hours, open again for dinner, and per their own Instagram post they knew that they were flouting their permit conditions by setting up as they did.
I have no problem with people hating cops, but this trivial bureaucratic enforcement action was an inappropriate context for venting about it.
The post was very mild and certainly not hating on the police lol. Really just pointing out a perceived injustice, there was room to disagree with out belittling. Too bad that didn’t happen.
The discussion is pure politics at this point — but i do not believe any business should have to get a “permit” to do anything. The right to conduct a business is a basic human right and the government has no place granting “permission” to a basic human right.
