Interesting, eclectic list. Mercado getting a nod makes sense to me. Bar Amá with a well deserved spot, though I would rank it higher than #30. Suprrised to Ka’teen on there, I have heard generally middling things. Chulita as #12…..uh I like it, but not #12.
La Casita Mexicana has long been on my list, so it getting crowned #1 is my wakeup call to get off my ass and finally drive over to Bell.
Most intriguing omission is surely Mirate, which I think is tremendous. They do mention it twice, once in the blurb about Three Flames (as a Mírame reference but same difference), and again when discussing Amor a mi. Someone has something against Mirate.
La Casita Mexicana is…fine? #1 doesn’t make sense to me.

What I appreciate about the food writing on LA Taco in general is that they explore a lot of neighborhoods and try a lot of places that get less attention from other media. My appreciation for the list is less about the exact order and more about learning about places I’ve never been to or even heard of before.
They sure have a higher opinion of Damian than most posters on this site.
